At Malté, we have developed a range of natural body hygiene products based on microbrewery spent grain. Following the sharp increase in the number of microbreweries in Quebec, the quantities of spent grain are now too high. We want to reduce the environmental impacts related to spent grain in addition to helping microbreweries limit the costs it generates.

Malté was born from a shared passion for entrepreneurship between two friends Philippe Rioux and Olivier Breault-Tourigny, founders of the company. Our products are made in Quebec and are all created with the aim of having a positive impact on the environment.

The idea comes from an old grandmother’s trick which consisted of emptying a beer in the hair. The whole thing could bring shine, volume in addition to nourishing the hair. Once the discovery of the spent grain, the idea took off, because we wanted to create a company with eco-responsible values.
